Andrea Gios
ANDREA GIOS
(ITA) - COUNCIL MEMBER
Born on 7 February 1963 in Asiago, Italy. He was elected to the IIHF Council in 2021.
Gios was elected as President of the Italian Ice Sport Association (FISG) in 2014 and re-elected in 2018. He is a Council member of the National Olympic Committee (CONI) and of the National Paralympic Committee (CIP). In 2019 he was named to the board of directors of the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation, which will have the task of organizing the 2026 Olympic Winter Games and 2026 Paralympic Winter Games.
Gios studied Economics and Business at the University of Verona and is a certified accountant and court-appointed expert on economic and auditing issues.
Outside of his work in ice sports he is partner of an audit and consultancy company where he works as CPA accountant, auditor and business consultant in the Veneto Region and Northern Italy and with Italian companies setting up branches abroad. He has been a board member and auditor of several companies in his function.
He also served as mayor of his hometown Asiago for two terms from 2004 to 2014. From 2005 to 2011 he was Director, Vice President and Commissioner of ATO Brenta, a public consortium for the management of water supply services for 78 municipalities.
He has served as member of the IIHF Finance Committee since 2016.
Gios is married with two children.
