Hello, hockey fans around the world, here are two approaching dates to mark on your calendar!
On New Year’s Day and 3 January, the IIHF will be announcing the 2025 inductees for the Hall of Fame.
On New Year’s Day, at 9.00 ET/15.00 CET, we will announce the newest honourees for the Contributors’ Awards, which include the Paul Loicq Award, Richard “Bibi” Torriani Award, Milestone Award, IIHF Media Award, and Johan Bollue Award.
Then, two days later, also at 9.00 ET/15.00 CET, we will reveal the newest Hall of Fame inductees in the Player, Builder, and Official categories.
The Contributors’ Awards will be handed out in Stockholm, Sweden, on 24 May, prior to the semi-finals of the Men’s World Championship, and the IIHF Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held the next day prior to the medal games.
About the Honours
Honoured Members are inducted for outstanding contributions to international ice hockey.
The Paul Loicq Award is for outstanding service to international ice hockey.
The Torriani Award is for outstanding contributions to the national team in IIHF competition.
The Milestone Award is given periodically to teams that have made a significant contribution to the development of international hockey.
The IIHF Media Award is given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to international hockey through television, print, and radio.
The Johan Bollue Award is given to a person who has made an outstanding contribution to youth hockey development resulting in the long-term growth of the game.
The IIHF Hall of Fame was established in 1997 and features 244 Inductees—Players, Builders, Officials—from 26 countries.
