Following a scoreless first period, Sara Hjalmarsson opened the scoring at 2:05 of the second on a play set up by Hanna Thuvik. The Swedes led 1-0 heading into the final period. It remained tight until midway through the final frame, when Svensson finished a play from Lova Blom and Ebba Hedqvist to make it 2-0. Svensson iced the victory with just over a minute to play after Czechia pulled goaltender Michaela Hesova for an extra attacker.
