The Chinese Ice Hockey Association has withdrawn its men’s U20 and women’s U18 teams from the upcoming IIHF tournaments due to the current Covid-19 countermeasures and quarantine rules in the country.
China expects to have its national teams back for the next season.
The 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division II Group B in Belgrade will now be played from 12 to 17 September with five teams: host Serbia, the Netherlands, Croatia, Belgium and Iceland.
The 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship Division I Group B in Radenthein will also be played with five teams from 6 to 11 September: Denmark, host Austria, Korea, Poland and Chinese Taipei.
