Kazakhstan national team player Alexander Pisarev was assessed a one-year suspension due to a doping violation.
Pisarev was part of the IIHF Team Whereabouts Pool as a member of the Kazakh men’s national team in the 2020/2021 season. A doping control was conducted on 12 February 2021.
The IIHF was notified by the laboratory of the presence of LGD-4033 (ligandrol) metabolite, LGD-4033 bishydroxy-metabolite, a prohibited substance on the 2021 WADA Prohibited List under S1.2 Other Anabolic Agents as a non-specified substance.
The IIHF was of the opinion that the violation was intentional. The player admitted the adverse analytical finding and waived his right to disciplinary proceedings.
Pisarev was provisionally suspended on 11 May 2021. He will be suspended for three years starting from that date.
