Former Austrian national team goaltender Robert Mack passed away on Saturday morning in Vienna.
Mack died only three days after his 61th birthday after a severe illness.
The Klagenfurt native spent his entire top-level career in his country with his local club KAC winning seven national titles between 1979 and 1991.
One of the top goaltenders in his country, Mack represented his country in 83 international games and appeared in six World Championship events (five times in the B-Pool, once in the C-Pool). His international highlight was his last season on the international stage when Austria participated in the 1988 Olympic Winter Games in Calgary.
