Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the current limitations for holding events and for travel, the IIHF has recently had to cancel its events between March and May.

Taking into consideration the health and safety of all participants and the effect of the pandemic around the world as well as the necessary organizational arrangements and operational steps concerning all stakeholders, the IIHF will also not be in a position to operate the 2020 IIHF Women’s High-Performance Camp as planned in early July in Finland.

Over 300 participants from over 40 countries were expected at this invitational camp including some of the top female junior-age players.

However, the camp will not be cancelled. It will be postponed and the camp schedule adjusted. The Women’s High-Performance Camp will now take place in the summer of 2021 instead of the Hockey Development Camp.

The change will also provide a great opportunity to the young female athletes and their support staff to prepare for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.

The Women’s Hockey Summit planned during the camp in July may still be arranged later this year at a date and venue to be defined by the IIHF Women’s Committee.
