Hartwall Arena in Helsinki has been chosen as the second venue for the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Finland to host the tournament together with Tampere new Tampere Deck Arena.

One preliminary round group and two quarter-final games will be played at Hartwall Arena, a venue that has already hosted the men’s World Championship four times in the past.

One preliminary round group, two quarter-final games, both semi-final games and the medal games will be played at the Tampere Deck Arena, which is under construction and estimated to open in the later part of the year 2021. The downtown venue will then serve as new home for the city’s stories hockey clubs Ilves and Tappara.

”Our aim is to organize a spectacular tournament and it’s important to us to have world-class venues. Helsinki and Tampere have both long history and vast experience in hosting IIHF tournaments, which means a lot as well,” said Heikki Hietanen, General Secretary of the Organizing Committee.

The 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship will take place from 13 to 29 May 2022.

FIHA, Infront and TMG Sports partner for 2022

The Finnish Ice Hockey Association (FIHA), Infront, a Wanda Sports Group company, and TMG Sports, the Finnish sports marketing specialists have agreed a partnership to jointly develop and offer exclusive marketing and hospitality opportunities in Finland for the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship set to take place in Helsinki and Tampere in less than three years' time.

The commercial offering set by the FIHA's Organizing Committee will include a limited number of Official Partner sponsoring packages made available to Finnish companies who want to associate their brand with the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. It will also incorporate a broad range of hospitality packages providing access to the best seats and VIP areas of both arenas. 

TMG Sports, in close collaboration with Infront and the FIHA, will be responsible for the commercialization of all available local sponsoring and hospitality packages and will also manage the implementation of both elements closer to the event.
