The IIHF Championship Disciplinary Panel for the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division II Group A has issued a warning against Croatia’s Hrovje Zovko for an incident involving charging and an illegal hit to the head or neck against Romania’s Szabolcs Kovacs.
The incident occurred at 33:19 in the second period of Game #12 between Romania and Croatia. As this matter involves a violation of IIHF Official Playing Rule 42 (Charging) and IIHF Official Playing Rule 48 (Illegal Hit to the Head or Neck), the Panel has jurisdiction over the matter.
The Disciplinary Panel determined that the player unnecessarily elevated into and made contact on the hit . The player’s actions constitute a violation of the two aforementioned IIHF Official Playing Rules, but do not rise to the level requiring a suspension. Therefore, he shall be sanctioned with a:
