Supplementary discipline implemented against Gergo Kozma

The IIHF Championship Disciplinary Panel for the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division II Group A has issued a warning against Romania’s Gergo Kozma for a boarding incident involving Croatia’s Matko Idzan.

The incident occurred at 28:53 in the second period of Game #12 between Romania and Croatia. As this matter involves a violation of IIHF Official Playing Rule 41 (Boarding), the Panel has jurisdiction over the matter.

The Disciplinary Panel determined that the player pushed his opponent in the back in a vulnerable position and at a dangerous distance from the boards that resulted in impact. The player’s actions constitute a violation of Official Playing Rule 49 (Boarding, but do not rise to the level requiring a suspension. Therefore, he shall be sanctioned with a: 

WARNING.

The IIHF makes this announcement in the best interest of safety in this tournament and for future IIHF competitions.
