Puck control plus reach
Objective: Improve players to stickhandle with the reach while moving. Warm up.

Points of emphasis:  
  • Player is in the hockey stance gliding forward, feet shoulder width apart, head up 
  • A Firm grip with the upper hand, a slightly loose grip with the bottom hand 
  • Keep both hands away and in front of the body 
  • Stickhandling puck with full extension of the arms on the sides 
  • When the puck is wide on the backhand side, stick is in one (upper) hand and bottom hand is off the stick 
  • Both hands should be close together when arms are fully extended on the forehand side 
  • Shift body weight from side to side together when stickhandling
