- Player is in the hockey stance
- Bringing the puck behind the body
- Shift the weight to the back leg
- Head is up, looking at the other player
- Making eye contact with the receiver
- Cup the blade of the stick over the puck
- Shift weight to the front foot
- Snap and roll wrists
- Follow through keeping the blade low and pointed towards the target
- Be prepared to receive
- Player is in the hockey stance
- Head is up looking at the puck
- Making eye contact with the passer
- Stick blade is on the ice
- Show the back side of the stick blade where you want to receive the puck
- Keep the back side of the stick blade at 90° towards the direction of the puck
- As the puck touches the stick blade, move the stick blade backwards
- Relaxing the wrists and cushioning the puck
- Be prepared to pass
