Katowice, POLAND – Denmark didn’t need the final win but why not earn one more and run a perfect round-robin record?

The Danes clinched the gold medal at the 2025 U18 Women’s World Championship Division I Group B tournament on Monday in Poland, thanks to a 5-0 win over Poland one day earlier. All that was left to be determined on the final day of the event was to see whether Denmark could make it five for five wins in the tournament.

And that’s what the Danes did, peppering 48 shots at Spain during a 4-0 win. Denmark finished 5-0 with 15 points to capture gold and earn a spot at the U18 Division 1 Group A tournament in 2026.

Poland settled for silver with 12 points, Spain finished third with eight points, followed by China in fourth, Australia in fifth and Korea in sixth.

Denmark scored 27 goals in five games and gave up just two goals. The Danes also captured two individual awards, as Anja Poulsen was named top goaltender (four shutouts in four starts) and Nikita Bergmann was top forward with 13 points, including five goals. The top defender was Nikola Isztok, who was plus-five and had three points for Poland.

The Danes opened their tournament with a 4-0 victory over China, with Olivia Ranum and Bergmann each scoring two goals for Denmark. Poulsen stopped the 11 shots she faced for the shutout.

Next, Denmark dispatched Australia 6-0, with Teresa Christensen leading the Danish attack with two goals and an assist. The winners had balanced scoring in this one, as Ranum, Angelina Sloth, Alma Madsen-Mygdal, and Fie Pouls also finding the back of the net. Poulsen picked up her second-straight shutout, this time facing just eight shots.

Madsen-Mygdal had three goals and an assist and Freya Ekberg posted two goals and an assist as Denmark improved to 3-0 with an 8-2 drubbing of Korea. Mila Petersen was in net for the winners and turned away 14 of 16 shots.

Denmark’s most important win came against Poland as the teams entered the game with 3-0 records. Poulsen was the story in this one, stopping all 25 shots she faced for her third shutout, this one coming by a 5-0 score. Olivia Olesen, Bergmann, Klara Holm, Victoria Dahlmann and Pouls scored the goals.

Korea finished sixth and will be relegated to Division II Group A in 2026. The Koreans were able to salvage but one point in five games, that coming in a crucial 2-1 overtime loss to Australia. The Aussies finished with two points thanks to that win, one ahead of Korea which means Australia finishes fifth and remains in Division I Group B in 2026.
