The 2025 IIHF Women's World Championship kicks off on Wednesday 9 April, and it's not just about the games. Organisers are putting the finishing touches to a large tent on Sokolský ostrov that can accommodate up to 1,200 people - and there's something for everyone. The fan zone will offer a full programme and great refreshments to get fans ready for the games in the arena. Here are the answers to the most frequently asked questions:
 
Q: Where is the Fan Zone?
 
The Fan Zone is located on Sokolský ostrov - it's only a 5-minute walk from the ARENA.
 
Q: What kind of cultural programme can I expect?
 
You can look forward to a full programme of concerts and DJ sets. Live acts include Pam Rabbit, Vesna, We Are Domi, the legendary band Oceán, Jamaron, Elizabeth Band, All Right Band, Shellou Band feat. MK, Junior Dell & The D-Lites and DJs such as Roxtar, KHARMA DJ and DJ Lucca.
 
Q: What else can I expect?
 
As well as the live music, there will be partner activations taking place in the 1,200 capacity tent where you can win prizes. To make your stay even better, don't miss the area with freshly tapped tank beer and a selection of delicious bites from local caterers.
 
Q: What are the opening hours of the Fan Zone?
 
The Fan Zone will be open from 9th to 15th April between 2pm and 10pm. On Thursday 17 April it will be open from 1pm to 11pm. On the Saturday of the semi-final (19 April) it will be open from 1pm to 10pm and on medal day from 10am to 10pm. The Fan Zone will be closed on match-free days, with the exception of the University of South Bohemia Day on Wednesday 16 April, when it will be open from 9am to 11pm.
 
Q: I have large bags or prohibited items. Is there a place to store them?
 
Yes - there will be a deposit box at the entrance. You can store your belongings there for CZK 50 per item. However, we recommend that you leave unnecessary items at home.
 
Q: Is the entrance free?
 
Yes - entry to the Fan Zone is completely FREE for everyone.
 
Q: What's the "University of South Bohemia Day"?
 
It's a special day to present the possibilities of the University of South Bohemia. All eight faculties will present their programmes to the public and scientists will perform an exciting science show in the Fan Zone. There will also be three talk show blocks hosted by Libor Bouček. In the evening, Circus Brothers will take to the stage, followed by a Evropa 2 party with DJ Pavel Cejnar.
