To celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March 2025, the IIHF is launching new social media channels @iihfwomen on Instagram and Facebook dedicated specifically to women’s hockey. The main focus will be the IIHF Women’s World Championships and IIHF U18 Women’s World Championships, as well as the global development and growth of women’s hockey. The new platforms will allow fans from around the world to access exclusive content on women’s hockey and will help promote players and teams from across the world.
The new IIHF’s social media communications platforms are available here: Instagram, Facebook. The channels will also provide additional content on the IIHF’s website, Newsletter, IIHF App, and support the organization’s collaboration with its 84 Member National Associations (MNAs).
“This initiative clearly demonstrates our commitment to women’s ice hockey as we look to making our sport more inclusive and gender equal,” said IIHF President Luc Tardif. “We are proud to contribute to the growth of women’s hockey worldwide, and we hope the fan base will continue to increase thanks to these new channels. By following @iihfwomen on social media, women’s hockey enthusiasts will have access to exceptional content on a daily basis. These are exciting times for our organization and women’s hockey in general.”
This new content will be available starting today and will continue through the upcoming 2025 IIHF Women’s World Championship in April and the entire women’s hockey season. Thanks to these new platforms, the IIHF will provide spotlights, including career highlights, interviews, features and personal stories. Game coverage will also be part of the content and will include live updates, highlights, and in-depth analysis. Fan engagement campaigns with contests, competitions and inspirational stories will also be included. Altogether, this is meant to provide more vibrant and exclusive content on women’s hockey, and the IIHF is excited to start this new initiative with its fans and the international hockey community!
This launch is the first of the newly themed social media channels that will focus on IIHF women's, men's, and juniors hockey. The existing @iihfhockey channels will remain as usual. Hockey fans will continue to find the latest updates and information about international hockey and the IIHF on those channels.
