HC Arlan unavailable for Cardiff final due to travel, timing issues

HC Arlan (Kazakhstan) has officially withdrawn from the 2025 IIHF Continental Cup final due to a combination of travel and timing issues. Consultations were undertaken with potential replacement teams, and it was determined that having a placeholder team in the tournament was not possible at this time.

Therefore, after careful evaluation of the logistics in partnership with tournament organizers, the IIHF Continental Cup final will go forward with the three other qualifying teams: Bruleurs de Loups (France), GKS Katowice (Poland), and host Cardiff Devils (Great Britain).

The original game days – 16, 18, and 19 January – will be kept in place, while an updated schedule features all evening games, as follows. All times are local Cardiff time.

  • Thursday 16th January 19:30 - GKS KATOWICE v CARDIFF DEVILS
  • Saturday 18th January 18:00 - BRULEURS DE LOUPS v GKS KATOWICE
  • Sunday 19th January 18:00 - CARDIFF DEVILS v BRULEURS DE LOUPS
