The 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship IB Disciplinary Panel has issued a one (1) game suspension to Ukraine’s Pangelov-Yuldashev Pylyp (#28) for violating Official Playing Rule 48.
The incident occurred in the game between Ukraine and China on 30.04.2024.
The Championship Disciplinary Panel determined that the Player, with the opponent skating through the neutral zone engaged in a battle with the Player’s teammate (UKR #19), the Player made a hit on the Player that cut across the front of his body which led his left shoulder to make the head of the opponent the primary point of contact on a hit where such contact could have been avoided.
Therefore, as the Player recklessly endangered his opponent, he violated Official Playing Rule 48 (illegal Check to the Head of Neck) and shall be sanctioned as follows:
Due to the suspension, the Player will miss game number 10 between Ukraine and Spain.
