The 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Junior Championship Disciplinary Panel has issued a one (1) game suspension to Switzerland’s Leon Muggli (#23) for cross-checking Norway’s Sander Wold (#17).
The incident occurred at 06:50 in the 1st period of Game #15 between Switzerland and Norway. The Championship Disciplinary Panel determined that the cross-check by the Player was delivered with full extension of his arms to the back of Norway’s Sander Wold and forced him headfirst into the boards. This type of play carries a high risk of injury, and therefore the Player’s actions constitute a violation of Official Playing Rule 59 (Cross-checking).
Due to the suspension, the Player will miss today’s game between Czechia and Switzerland.
