The 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Junior Championship Disciplinary Panel has issued a one (1) game suspension to SWE; SALOMONSSON, Elias (#3) for violating Official Playing Rule 43 against LAT #10; VECKAKTINS, Emils.
The incident occurred at 00:25 in the 1st period of Game #4 (SWE v. LAT).
The Championship Disciplinary Panel determined that because the Player, while holding his stick with both hands, pushed the shaft of his stick into the back of LAT #10, his actions recklessly endangered the safety of LAT #10, the Player’s action constituted a violation of Official Playing Rule 43 (Checking from Behind).
Due to the suspension, the Player will miss tomorrow’s game between Germany and Sweden.
