At the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship in Ostersund, Sweden, the second Partnership for Progress seminar of the season was run after the first one recently in Halifax.

15 female coaches attended the two-day clinic organized together with the Swedish Ice Hockey Association at the start of the tournament consisting of the following presentations followed by a question-and-answer session with each presenter:

  • Kristen Wright, Drill design – ADM Managers, USA Hockey
  • Martina Hook, Menstruation, Hormones and training – PhD student, Mid Sweden University
  • Mikael Swaren, Player load – PhD, KTH
  • Tommy Lundberg, Hockey Fitness, PhD, Associate Professor – Karolinska institute 
  • Ulrika Billme, Team Dynamics & Mental health among coaches, Sport psychology consultant 
  • Anders Wahlstrom, The Future – Head of Development Swedish Ice hockey Association
  • Kalle Valiaho, Player Development, IIHF Development Director
The conclusion of the clinic saw the coaches attend the USA-Sweden and Canada-Finland games on the opening day.

This season the IIHF Development and Top Mentorship Committees allocated 10 different tournaments where it is planned to hold different seminars together with the host organization. The next seminars will be held during different events in the spring.
