The 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship will require many volunteers. The application period for Tampere concluded at the end of November.

Volunteer duties at the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships have always been of great interest. For example, 1300 people worked at the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Tampere and Helsinki.

There’s a big interest in 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship as well with more than 900 applicants for various positions in Tampere. Positions are available for approximately 650 people.

Now those responsible for different areas are starting to go through the applicants, and some of the groups can invite applicants for interviews. Applications will be reviewed until early 2023. The selected candidates will be notified by the end of February 2023 at the latest. There will be both general and area-specific training for volunteers during the spring. 

Although the call for volunteers in Tampere is already over, the call for volunteers in Riga, Latvia, is still ongoing. The application period runs until 4 January.
