New Zealand won’t be able to send a team to the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship Division II.
The withdrawal is related due to Covid-19 with no ice time for the players within the country, high Covid-19 numbers in New Zealand among the age group and travel difficulties.
The focus will now be to have a domestic 2022 ice hockey season in New Zealand and participate internationally next season.
The 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship Division II will now be planned with nine teams in two groups starting in late June.
