Finnish player Otto Hokkanen has been issued a one-game suspension by the ad-hoc Disciplinary Panel at the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship.
Hokkanen was assessed a match penalty for checking from behind at 11:07 of the second period in Finland’s opening game against Switzerland.
The panel determined that the player recklessly endangered his opponent by checking him from behind into the boards while he had plenty of time to make a different play.
Hokkanen will be suspended for today’s game against Latvia.
