Hartwall Arena
Hartwall Arena is multipurpose event centre and the home of world-class ice hockey. It is situated only a few minutes away from Helsinki city centre. The Arena was built in “NHL-style” and the arena was christened with the 1997 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships. The excited atmosphere and the variety of restaurant choices at the games, continuously attracts a full house. Watching ice hockey does not get any better than this. Hartwall Arena has been the epicentre for European league hockey and many international tournaments, NHL-games and five IIHF Ice hockey World Championships. The arena has been the venue twice for World Figure Skating Championships and European Figure Skating Championships. It is home for one of Finland´s most successful ice hockey teams ever, Jokerit Helsinki. They have been playing since 2014 in cross-border Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). The arena has a full-size practice rink constructed 20 meters underground in rock.
