Jayna Hefford won five Olympic medals (4 gold, 1 silver) and 12 medals at the IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship (7 gold, 5 silver).
“You have to be a little bit lucky, but you have to be driven, you have to be passionate,” she said about her success story on the ice.
The 44-year-old retired as a player after gold in Sochi 2014 but stayed involved as coach at the University of Toronto and now working to grow the women’s game by improving the environment for professional women’s hockey in North America.
