Lo and behold, it’s time for the very first Olympic men’s ice hockey Power Rankings! These elite Power Rankings only come around once every four years. Starting out on top, the ROC team is aiming to maintain a golden tradition. But the Finns and Canadians, who have squared off in the last two IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship finals, are hot on their heels. Let’s get this Beijing party started!
| ROC | Some guys prefer Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy
| FIN | There’s no “I” in “team” – there’s “final” in “Finland”
| CAN | Gretzky couldn’t make this team, but the man is 61
| SWE | Let’s dream big and win a quarter-final!
| CZE | Fun fact: people born in 1998 are turning 24
| USA | Can Tom Brady skate?
| GER | We can bring home silver again if we steal some forks
| SUI | Free chocolate for all Group B teams!
| SVK | Um...we’re actually usually eleventh?
| LAT | Nobody told us we couldn’t bring in beavers
| DEN | We hope to beat you like Lars Ulrich’s drums
| CHN | If the Olympics were the NHL, we’d be the Habs |
