The ROC team was one of the first to hit the ice in Calgary where the ten teams will play for the 2021 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship title.

After a quarantine period in their home countries followed by five days of hotel-room isolation in Calgary, all ten teams of the 2021 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship have been cleared to come together and start ice practices at WinSport Arena at Canada Olympic Park.
Prior to travel the teams, game officials and IIHF staff went through a seven-day team or home quarantine in their countries with three PCR tests between 3-9 August. A total of 1,692 tests were conducted that were all negative.
Since team arrival last Tuesday into the bubble, 1,047 PCR tests have been performed in Calgary, the most recent ones on Sunday, and all players, team staff, game officials and IIHF staff in the exclusive event hotels have been tested negative.
The good news on Monday morning is another step towards the start of the tournament in a safe and restricted environment. The teams can now come together and will follow team-quarantine rules including ice practices at the arena for the upcoming days but will stay separated from other teams until the pre-competition games on Wednesday, 18 August.
The teams will continue to be tested and follow the safety protocols until the end of the event. The rosters will formally be registered in the night before the tournament.
