German player Lua Niehus has been issued a one-game suspension by the ad-hoc Disciplinary Panel at the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship.
Niehus was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for violating IIHF Official Playing Rule 56 (Interference) at 55:10 in the 3rd period of Game #15 (GER v. SVK) on 24.04.2023.
Based on all facts ascertained, the Disciplinary Panel determined that the Player’s actions recklessly endangered the safety of SVK #18, thereby violating IIHF Official Rule 56 (Interference).
Niehus will be suspended for today’s preliminary game against Sweden.
