Hungarian player Janos Hari was suspended for one game for a spearing incident in Thursday’s game against Lithuania.
Late in the game with 1:40 left in the third period, Janos Hari was body-checked and separated from the puck by Lithuanian defenceman Nerijus Alisauskas. After the hit Hari skated toward Alisauskas and speared him with his stick into the upper body.
Hari was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for spearing by the on-ice officials and following a disciplinary review it was decided to suspend him for one game, being Hungary’s next game against Slovenia on Friday.
